The Shenyang New and High Tech Agricultural Development Zone (SNHTADZ), an initiative of the Shenyang Committee of the CPC and the Shenyang Municipal People's Government, was established in 2002. This major development for the city of Shenyang in the new century is aimed at being or becoming:

The SNHTADZ is conveniently located only 15 km from downtown Shenyang and 40 km from the international airport.

  The centre for administration, incubation, research, IT and demonstration.

• Agriculture Processing Area
  Location for agricultural product processing companies comprising, industrial and high-tech zones.

• Modern Agriculture Demonstration Area
  Base for demonstration of new high-tech agriculture.

• Leisure Ecological Agriculture Sightseeing Tourist Area.
  Large ecological park, tour resort and training base for leisure and sightseeing activities.
